Jo Birch has used her diverse skills in coaching, counselling and psychotherapy to help leaders in organisations across the world.
Jo works across systems, with C-suite executives, regional leads and emerging talent in global corporate environments, public sector and third sector organisations. Her clients are based in the UK and across the world – financial & legal, industry, telecommunications, NGOs.
Jo’s expertise is in working directly with people in order that they stretch, flourish and make a bigger impact in the world. Her coaching career began 15 years ago in a quest to find a shared language across communities, politicians and senior decision-makers.
A year living and working in Mongolia, as a Health Sector Leadership Advisor (VSO), gave a new dimension to Jo’s expertise in working at the cultural interface.
As an accredited counsellor/ psychotherapist, Jo provides professional supervision to counsellors, international executive coaches (UK & Asia Pacific), NHS managers and specialist practitioners, third sector leaders.
Jo has held a number of professional leadership appointments including Chair of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Coaching 2012 – 2014; and Trustee at Patient’s Advocacy Service – human rights service within maximum secure mental health at The State Hospital, Carstairs, 2013 to date. Jo holds one current Public Appointment with Scotland’s Children’s Hearings.
When she is not working, Jo might be found seeking adventure, or finding balance and stillness sea kayaking off the Scottish coast. Jo lives in Edinburgh and is regularly in London and Manchester.
